Magic Moments

-Thursdays are my least favorite day of the week. -Gas is at $2.07! -I started a new novel -My parents are coming today! -I met some Jehovah's Witness' at the library today. I felt almost smug as I told them that I was a born again Christian and that my husband was a pastor. However, telling them that your hubby is a preacher man must make them assume that you aren't a likely convert. After that they were quick to wrap up the conversation and be on their way. I feel bad for them and their disillusioned belief. Had I known what to say, I would have told them about my faith. But I felt discouraged before I even started. They are SO certain their way is THE WAY. They are so lost and I felt like our conversation would be an argument of whose Bible is true. Plus, I'm not out to run a campaign. I believe that Christ followers are best developed through relationships. I suppose I should have invited the "elders" (that's what their name tag said) over f...

Hey, mom! I went potty! Hey, guys! Catch! Playing catch is one of Aiden's favorite things! Also, after seeing Aiden's naked pics it became apparent as to why we have pee (on the couch) and poo (in the tub). Aiden spends too much time without a dipey on! But, he loves to be in his Bday suit so it's hard to deny him. He just gets so excited! VanHalen in the making! Play that funky music! - I love being a mama!

There are two things that really get on my last nerve when it comes to other people and their comments about my child. The first thing is this: I HATE it when people ask, "Is he a good baby?" What the heck? Is there such thing as a bad baby? Does anyone ever really say, "no he isn't a good baby. In fact, he is down right rotten." What does it mean to be a bad baby anyway? Grrrrr...... I have been asked this question SO. MANY. TIMES. Last time I was asked this question I sort of bit the ladies head off. I was at a garage sale and the lady running the sale asked me if Aiden was a "good baby." I said, "Every baby is a good baby." I think she was kind of flustered. She told me that she would agree but her baby didn't sleep through the night til he was nine months old. I guess that means he must be a bad baby. From what I can tell a "bad baby" must be one that doesn't sleep all night and fusses. So, I guess that translates to mea...

Today I had my six month check up! I'm growing, thats for sure! I weighed in at 17 pounds 6 ounces had I am 26 inches long. I'm short for my age (I'm in the 33 percentile for height and the 47 percentile for weight). My head is big (it's in the 92 percentile). My mama says that's because my brain is so big cause I'm such a smart little guy! At first I really like the doctor visit. She kept telling me how cute and healthy I was. Then, I had to get a shot. That hurt so bad! I made sure I yelled and cried about that for a LONG time. My mama cried too and my Daddy said we were making a scene. My mama said that he could only say that cause he didn't know how bad it hurt for a little boy to get a shot. Anyway, at six months I can sit up by myself, roll around every where, and sometimes I get up on my knees. I don't crawl yet so rolling is my way of transportation. I am really into babbling and today I've been practicing saying "na-na" all day. I...

We had one of my favorite fall meals tonight. For those of you who meal plan, I'll post it. It was SO yummy. Meat Loaf 1 lb ground beef 1/2 cup oatmeal 1/2 cup milk chopped onion mix together and form into a loaf. put in pan and pour sauce on top. Sauce: 2 T sugar, 2 T worchestershire sauce, 1 cup katchup, 1/2 cup water, chopped onion Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees Squash cut in half and bake for one hour at 350 degrees. Spoon out and mix with salt, pepper, and butter Banana oatmeal bread 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup quick cooking oats 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas 1/4 cup milk 1/2 cup chopped raisins (optional) DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In just six more months we'll let Aiden devour his first bday cake. Daddy did let him taste the frosting. Aiden didn't make out too bad. Marme and Pappy got him a poppity pop choo choo train and a pop up toy and mama and daddy got him click together bead and a penguin bowling set. Aiden couldn't wait to open his presents. Aiden is six months old today! Where did the time go? I'm cherishing each moment...they go by so fast! Later today we are having 1/2 of a cake, ice cream, and presnts so there will be more pictures to come. My baby boy at six months Aiden's first day at home.
