A few reflections before baby arrives

My blog has been silent because I'm pregnant...which has become the reason for everything lately.  I have pictures to upload of the boys (I think) but I don't remember what I took them of and my camera battery died, so tonight I'm just tuning in to reflect with the hopes that this baby will be born much sooner rather than later. Today I 'm trying to be thankful. And I am thankful. Honestly and truly thankful for friends and family who have stepped in to do things that I can't. I'm thankful for friends who forgo naptime and come to my house to see me and keep me company. It lifts my spirits greatly! I'm thankful for the friends who come over and bring ice cream and sit and with me while our kids play. I'm thankful for friends who walk into my mess and help me put clean sheets on the bunk beds, fold my laundry, and even endure an oven fire and dog puke with me. I 'm thankful for the friends who I know are in prayer for me and Cade. I'm thankful f...

National Night Out

National Night Out is sponsored by the police (I think) and it's a chance for neighbors to get together and I think the goal is just to get to know each other, hang out and BBQ, and to hopefully, in the long run, reduce crime. I think that's the purpose anyway. I haven't actually ever been to our neighborhood's party. I was hoping the boys could hitch a ride in one of the emergency vehicles this year but since they were all still on call and could be called away at any moment the boys had to ride with us. Sure enough, we lost our ambulance to an emergency half way through the night. We made several stops and everyone was super nice and the boys never tire of looking at the fire trucks and police cars. I spent most of...

Hodge Podge

My posts are hodge podge these days since motivation for anything at 35 weeks pregnant is hard to come by. I've been living in the air conditioning and waiting not so patiently for Cade to get out so we can get on with our lives. I have a random collection of very few pictures of what we've been up to. We have been at the cabin but I didn't take any pictures of our time there. The deal is that Tucker is NOT supposed to join us in the school room. But, he somehow weaseled his way in because it was raining outside. Honestly, this dog is a sassy, manipulative teenager. When I make Tucker lay in the corner where he belongs he looks at me and whines and barks. He talks back when I tell him to be quiet. He just creates chaos. Thankfully Tom was home to take over with Tucker. Tucker is most likely going on an extended vacation when the baby comes until Tucker becomes a sane dog or I insanely agree to take him back. We started school so we can have time to take a break w...
