Soccer

Aiden had a soccer tournament last Saturday night. His team played really hard and lost the championship game 0-2 and took home 2nd place. His team is young and they haven't competed together except for a couple of times so we're looking forward to more competition in the future. Another tournament starts tonight and will continue each Friday night for the next 8 weeks or so. Aiden is sick so sadly he won't be playing tonight but we'll be cheering on his team from home. Sage is also sick and I'm doing ALL the things to keep everyone else from catching the terrible colds he and Aiden have. I don't typically let them off the hook with school when they are sick but they have had a much lighter week of assignments. And since they don't feel well they don't want to play, they can't run around outside and their screen time is limited even though I feel like I have been more than generous compared to normal. January

I thought I'd do a January catch-up post and then back track to our Christmas in a later post. For the first time in years we rang in the New Year by staying up until midnight. In fact, for the first time ever the boys stayed up until midnight as well.  We all went to a friends house and just hung out all night and had a great time. After the rush of Christmas and the New Year we had to get back to the daily grind and continue on with school. The weather here is so very gloomy day in and day out that we might as well be doing school because there is nothing else to do. We didn't send a Christmas card this year because my computer ate my mailing list so here's a bit of an update for those of you bored enough to read until the end. Aiden....still gobbles up every book and story he can get his hands on.  This works well for progress in Science and History because he loves to read anything and everything.
