Weekend Review

We had a great time seeing our friends, Jesse, Julie, and Renae this weekend. We're excited to spend more time with them in February. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The first thing we did was take Aiden on a college visit. Mama showed him where she spent all her time as an undergrad.

We ran into Jesse and Julie on Saturday on Campus taking pictures for Julie's brother's wedding. This is Aiden meeting Renae for the first time.


Swimming with Dada and enjoying the king size bed at the hotel. A king size bed is now at the top of our list of things to buy.


Sunday we had brunch at Julie's mom's house (YUM!) with their family. Aiden waited with Renae and Taylor for Jesse and Julie to get home from church. Aiden had lunch at the kids table...the kids came close to out numbering the adults.


Aiden loved his Julie! This picture makes me teary. Aiden and Renae will be so big before we get to see each other again.

Can't wait to see you guys again and have you live on the same contenient! February can't come soon enough!

Sure looked like you had a wonderful time. I've been waiting since Sunday night for pictures. I especially love the one on campus, been back 3 times now, and still have not gone...sad.

So glad you guys had a fun weekend! Aiden and Renae look so cute sitting on the piano bench together!!
ps..we have a king size bed and it's the BEST!!! We highly recommend it!

I loved seeing your photos - what a fun trip this must have been for you guys! It was so good seeing you this weekend - we'll have to get together next time we're in Andover! I can't WAIT to see your new house in person!!

jenny i forgot to add on my list that i got to hold aiden! it was SOOO good to see you and I'm glad you took pictures because i don't have any!!! i'm trying to do updates but realized i don't have that many pictures! bummer :( love you lots thanks for taking the time to drive down just to see us for a few busy hours :)

 A new year, a new orchard. This year we tried out Apple Creek Orchard and it was a really pretty place. We picked apples, took a hay ride, and the boys had fun with the apple slinger. We were joined by Tom's parents and it feels so good to have them now living close by instead of far away.

Almost to the finish line.

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid. If Cade is crying, I know he is actually hurt because he never cries ove...
