One of those days?

We have a really fun day planned but the day hasn't started out that well so I'm hoping it will improve. Tom isn't working today so the plan is to have lunch with a friend and then take Aiden to the zoo. Hopefully the day starts looking up....

Last night Tom and I both woke up to a really loud noise. We didn't know what it was but we were both too tired to find out. Thus, we prayed that no one was breaking in and went back to sleep. This morning I found out what the noise was. Aiden and I went into the bathroom and after Aiden sliped and fell I noticed that the whole floor was covered in something. At first I thought it had rained in, but I shut the windows so that wasn't it. Then I discovered that a brand new bottle of laundry soap (liquid) had fallen from the top of the dryer (we have a stackable so it's really tall) and broken open. The whole bottle of soap leaked all over the bathroom floor. It was a horrible, sudsy mess to clean up. It took 10 towels and about and hour to get a soap free floor.

Then I came downstairs to find that a huge tree branch fell off during the storm and is blocking our drive way. It looks like Tom is going to have to get out the saw.

We're going to turn this day around. The sun is supposed to come out and we're going to the zoo!

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid.
