Aiden's Rainbow

I have a myriad of things that could make up a post for today, but this seemed most important.  Aiden drew this picture last week.  At the time the only thing I saw in this picture was his huge advancement in drawing skills.  This is a big leap for my four year old.  Do you see the rainbow, grass, sun, and sky?  But today I looked at it as I was opening the fridge to get breakfast and I was overwhelmed by a running list of God's promises flowing through my head.  I've been studying Genesis and I never guessed how such a seemingly straight forward book could become so personal.  Aiden's rainbow sparked in me a morning that was filled with affirmation of the Holy Spirit and I stood in awe of God's provision and blessings that make me feel so loved and humbled. I am marveling at how God speaks to us, how His timing truly is perfect, how He ordained all of creation and all the details of my life.  I am mesmerized by His invisible qualities that show themselves in all He made and by how God foresees, plans, and makes everything good.

Absolutely wonderful new pics and I love seeing and reading all about my beloved boys. The rainbow is the best and Granny would be so pleased to know that Aiden wants to grow up to be Peter Pan. She loved the whole story. My first play.

Almost to the finish line.

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid.
