Project Life 2014 Week 8: Everyday Adventures

It seems like everyday adventures for this busy Mama include laundry, and meals, and laundry, and picking up tiny little pieces of Playmobile that get strung through the house and hurt so bad when you step on them. For Aiden and Sage everyday adventures are found in books, their latest dress up clothes, their latest game of chase, or falling down the stairs because your galoshes that you insist on wearing are too big. All of the above mentioned happened today. Along with a slew of other things like two trips to the grocery store, nursing a sick child back to health, encouraging a husband at work, cleaning up wet pants, putting to bed, putting to bed again, and now folding laundry, ironing, and the list goes on. The things that make up the days can get mundane, but there is a sweetness to them, if my attitude is right. These are the things that make up our life. And if I'm not too busy to catch them, in between the tasks there are moments with the boys I never want to forget.

Aiden's adventures are found in books. We stocked up at the library on Saturday and by this morning the books were already read at least once. I'm about ready to give that kid a set of encyclopedias to read. That should keep him busy for awhile.

Doesn't this outfit just scream "Everyday Adventures?"  I love it! To top it off his galoshes are 2 sizes too big, and although he has a 50/50 chance of getting them on the right feet, he NEVER does. The life of a two year old. I love it. Ya gotta love the "cheese" smile that completes his ensemble.
I'm on a new learning curve (not that I ever completed the first one) with my camera. For Valentine's Day Tom surprised me with a new lens! This is my first try using it, but I know I'll get better. I hope. :)

That outfit is epic, and I feel you should keep it on the backburner. Someday, years from now, you might need some leverage with him. :)

Almost to the finish line.

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid.
