I love the Olympics!!!! I had planned to really do nothing else but watch every single minute of the Olympics this year. I love the figure skating, I LOVE the luge and bob sled races, I love the snow boarding and I love some of the skiing events. However, Tom has a project for work that needs to be mostly done by Monday and we didn't find out about this until Tuesday. And for some reason, I got dragged into helping him with the project every evening. :( So, I've seen almost none of the Olympics. I did see Sage Kotsenburg win the gold medal. And I suppose that if I had to choose one thing to see, I'm so glad I saw that moment. The fact that Sage Kotsenburg won the gold proves two things: 1) That Sage is not only a BOYS name (I have recently met many a Saige that are girls. Lame), but a
manly boys name. Our Sage now shares his name with an NFL star and an Olympic Gold Medalist. Boom! and 2) Sage Kotsenburg was homeschooled proving that homeschooled kids are cool.
Anyway, I'm doing my best to get Aiden up to speed on the Olympics. We stayed up late with him to watch the opening ceremonies and we did a flag scavenger hunt and had a small geography lesson as we watched. We've discussed all the events, watched what we could on T.V., and we've been charting the medals of six countries. We are home today so Aiden and I plan to watch the Olympics this afternoon. Hopefully something good is on.

| We made Olympic Flag cookies in honor of the opening ceremonies. |
 |
| We had our own Teddy Bear Olympics of sorts. It was fun for about 30 minutes. |
 |
| Tracking the medals. We used foil star stickers. We're cheering for the good ol' USA but can't help cheering for Norway on the side, since after all, I'm 1/4 Norwegian. |

PS - I love the Olympics too, but sadly have had no time to watch since the Opening Ceremonies. But what about Bob Costas's eye??? Poor guy!
