The Maiden Voyage

Sage has a need for speed. He is obsessed (and I do mean obsessed) with all things that have motors. He spends his days at the cabin begging anyone who will listen to please, please please take him on the pontoon, the John Deere, the fishing boats and now even the jet ski and tubing. I'm really not sure how Sage weaseled his way into a jet ski ride and the opportunity to go tubing. These are privileges which, in my opinion, should be reserved for some twice his age...at least. But this kid LOVES them and will beg you to go faster. And I should add that his Daddy was the one to give into the begging first. I was still holding out for when the kid had a few sessions of swimming lessons under his belt. When Sage isn't on some kind of boat he fills in his time riding his Motorcycle, which he still loves, but now that he's had a taste of riding a machine that will give you a thrill, the Motorcycle comes in second.

This past weekend Sage took his Maiden Voyage on the tube. And while he did think it was fun, his first preference is still to ride the jet ski so he can help drive. :) Aiden, thankfully, is cautious. Sage is the child that I will have to worry about. He is fearless.

Just to clarify, Tom is on the tube holding Sage and the tube they are on is almost impossible to tip. Tom and Joe have been "processed" in this tube but only going at very high speeds through turbulent waters.

WOW, super fun but seems so grown up for the two boys. Was your throat in your stomach?

Kallen is our dare devil and speedster too, guess we will have to do some extra watching them when they hang out together :)

Almost to the finish line.

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid.
