Indiana

We snuck away for a few days to go see Tom's parents in Indiana. Tom and his cousin had tickets to the Nebraska vs. Michigan football game and they had a great time being together even though Tom's team suffered an embarrassing loss. The weather turned a bit cooler while we were there and we so very much enjoyed that because we are sick of 90+ degree weather. The time spent in Indiana was so fun as it always is. The area has so many fun things. We went to the Orchard, spent a day in Amish Country and of course we also spent a day at the beach on Lake Michigan. We love being at home and the boys get spoiled with Grandmommy and Grandpa and Sage LOVES being with Tucker. That dog is like is therapy dog and it's so sweet. Now we're back home, we're in the routine of our week but still missing Grandmommy and Grandpa and enjoying thinking about all the fun memories we made!






Sweet Isaiah! We met Tom's cousin and his family at the beach for the day and got to meet their newly adopted little boy from India. He was the sweetest and with some persuasion he made friends with Tom and also let me hold him and snuggle him for a bit. We are so happy he is here!

Amish Country has a very unique attraction where you can interact pretty closely with animals and feed them. The animals consist of a very wide variety from bunnies and goats to zebras, kangaroos, and parrots. The parrot could speak and the boys thought it was hysterical that the parrot would say, "Let me out!" and also mimic your laughter. We rode around in a wagon and took a tour of all the animals the farm had. The animals would come right up to the wagon and we had an almost never ending supply of food to feed them. The boys LOVED it.





This Brahma Bull was my favorite. He was HUGE! Brahmas originate from India but I've never seen or heard of an animal like this. He looked like a gigantic cow but had a funny hump on his back. He followed the wagon around the entire time hoping for more dinner. Most animal we fed by holding our hands flat and the animal licked their food straight from our hands. Bruno, the Brahma Bull, was a bit different. He'd open his mouth and you could just pour his food right onto his tongue.

Looks like you had a wonderful time. As for my favorites, Cade in boots and a cape, and your newest nephew, just beyond adorable!

Almost to the finish line.

 It's hard to believe that Aiden turns 18 in one week and walks through graduation in just one month. After more than a decade of homeschooling, 2 years of PSEO, and no less than one million moments that I'll treasure forever, my oldest will be an adult and graduated. Great things are ahead for my boy!

Happy Birthday, Cade!

 My littlest is seven and it's hard  not to be sad. We couldn't be without him, and we're so glad he's ours.  At seven years old Cade loves to do what everyone else is doing. He will NOT play by himself, and maybe it's because he's used to having someone to entertain him all the time. He loves legos and soccer. He also loves to read. I am ALWAYS finding Cade trying to tackle reading a book he probably isn't quite ready for. Lately he's been trying to read The Hobbit. While he's able to read all the words, he just doesn't have the depth of understanding to read it independently quite yet. He LOVES Tom Sawyer so he was delighted to find an abridged version to read.  Cade makes up his own mind about things. He will NOT be bossed around. He holds his own, so I don't worry about his brothers pushing him over. Cade also won't be pushed over physically. He is one tough kid.
