Sage turned seven today and this past year it has been so fun to watch him bloom! He's gone from a little kid to a slightly bigger kid who knows what he loves and pursues his passions. He's developed his own likes and dislikes, made friends, grown in wisdom from life's experiences and continued to grow in his faith.
It's fun to see the differences between kids. Aiden chooses a series to read, reads it in order and reads ALL of them. Sage skips around, gets bored with series and chooses and new one and feels no obligation to finish a book once he starts. I let him choose his own reading material for free reading and he's currently loving these really quirky and not quality graphic novels called Geronimo Stilton. I give him a pretty hefty list of reading assignments during school of more quality books. ;)
Sage is my music man. He spends days going back and forth between the guitar (his first love) and now the piano for most of the day. I love watching him have a desire to keep learning more and more. Sage's Uncle Jim challenged him to learn a specific Led Zeplin guitar riff and Sage has practiced and practiced and practiced and learned the riff. Uncle Jim has lived up to the promise of buying Sage an electric guitar since he met the challenge so we CAN'T WAIT to see Uncle Jim and watch him give his special surprise to Sage.
Sage has recently begun attending a few soccer practices with Aiden's coach and he has amazed us all. Aiden is a great coach at home and has taught Sage so much so it's fun to watch Sage turn into a real soccer player with foot skills and ball control.
Sage is the most sensitive little fellow...he likes his snuggles and his Daddy still lays with him until he falls asleep at night. Sage is learning to be the kind of big brother to Cade that Aiden is to him. Sage goes to AWANA and his little mind absorbs so much of God's word that he's already finished and reviewed his whole book. I'm kind of shocked myself. ;)We're just so proud of our sweet Sage and as much as I hate to see him get older he's turning into the best boy I could ever ask for. We continue to pray that Sage will grow in wisdom, that his love for Jesus will never know an end and that he'll continue to feel loved and valued and continue the good work that God has prepared for him. Happy Birthday, Sage. We love you more than words can say!
